Celebrity wax figures at Madame Tussauds London
Today (20th September) we revealed that multi-award winning actress
Kate Winslet is to be honoured with a brand new wax figure after
topping a poll to name Britain’s best leading lady.
Titanic star Winslet clocked in at number one in a visitor survey by the world famous attraction, Queen actress Helen Mirren came second, while Dame Judi Dench, Keira Knightley and Helena Bonham Carter followed.
“Guests from around the world voted for Kate Winslet in droves – she has clearly got wide reaching global appeal”, commented Liz Edwards, PR Manager here at Madame Tussauds. “She is an iconic actress of a generation; a true English Rose and we’re delighted to be creating a figure of her.”
With numerous Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe wins and nominations under her belt, Winslet’s inclusion in the attraction is yet another accolade for the English mum of two.
The actress will be in good company as her figure joins a host of other award-winning screen superstars including the poll’s 2nd placed Helen Mirren, 3rd placed Dame Judi Dench.
Winslet’s figure will be revealed in November and she will be portrayed in her red carpet finest wearing a classic black evening dress with hair loosely tied back.
